Can I empty greywater into the latrine/blackwater system?
No, greywater should not be emptied into the waste disposal system at rest areas.
Can I empty greywater at rest areas that offer cassette toilet disposal in the sink?
No, greywater should not be emptied into the sink at a rest area.
Can I empty latrine waste in the toilets at nature reserves?
No, some toilets have biological treatment systems that are disrupted by chemicals.
How long can you park your caravan or motorhome at a rest area?
What is the required safety distance between motorhomes at a pitch or campsite?
As a guest, you are required to follow the applicable regulations from MSB (Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency). The minimum allowed safety distance between motorhomes/caravans/tents is 4 meters.
Where can I refill fresh water?
At most waste disposal stations, you will find facilities to refill fresh water.
Can I extend the awning and set up chairs or a grill at a Class 2 parking?
No, it is not allowed. The entire motorhome must stay within the marked area, and you are not permitted to occupy another parking spot.
Can I overnight at a Class 2 parking?
On weekdays in Sweden, you can park at a Class 2 parking and stay overnight in your motorhome for up to 24 hours. All wheels must remain within the marked area.
What applies to rooftop tents and vans?
The same rules apply to vehicles with rooftop tents or vans as they do for motorhomes. You must follow the Off-Road Driving Law, be aware of local restrictions, fire bans, and respect the Right of Public Access.
