National Bicycle Routes

The South Coast Trail

The Sydkustleden is one of Sweden’s national cycling routes for tourism and recreation. Together with the Kattegattleden (Helsingborg–Gothenburg) and the Sydostleden (Växjö–Simrishamn), they form approximately 90 mil of continuous, high-quality cycling trails. The main route runs between Simrishamn, Ystad, Trelleborg, Skanör/Falsterbo, Malmö, Landskrona, and Helsingborg. It is marked with red signs.

The Sweden Trail

The Sverigeleden trail begins on Kontinentgatan, across from Trelleborg Central Station. It is a nearly nationwide bike trail that passes through all of Sweden’s provinces, except Gotland. The route follows public roads, mostly paved, and is divided into a main route and several alternative routes. In the municipality of Trelleborg, the route runs largely on bike paths. Sverigeleden was created by the Swedish Cycling Association. It is marked with green signs.

Are your tires low on air?

If you need to inflate your bike tires, there are bike pumps at Trelleborg Central Station and at Stortorget, near the public restroom. At Smygehuk, Sweden’s southernmost headland, there is also a pump at the harbor area and at the restroom building by the parking lot.

Bicycle Parking

There are plenty of bike parking spots throughout Trelleborg. If you’d like to park under a roof, there’s a bike garage at Trelleborg Central Station with about 500 parking spaces. The garage also has spaces where you can lock your bike by the frame.
