Discover rich history
Trelleborgs museums offer a journey through time that sparks the imagination. You will find everything from graves that testify to life on the south coast 7000 years BC, to Vikingage ring fort, and niche museums that illustrate in various ways how the modern town emerged.
Trelleborgen
Discovered in 1988, a Viking-age ring fort has been partially reconstructed. The site includes a Viking farm, medieval houses, a museum, and Odin café.
Trelleborgs museum
At Trelleborg’s Museum, you can explore the town’s history, art, and crafts through engaging exhibitions. There is also a café and a museum shop.
Axel Ebbes konsthall
Discover a collection of Axel Ebbes statues, as well as some located around the town, such as Sea Serpent at the main square and Irrblosset in the City Park.
Uniform Collection
Sweden’s new uniform museum displays civilian and military uniforms from 1850 onwards. There are also uniforms from famous films and TV series, a museum shop, and a retro café.
Cultural collection
Trelleborg’s museum collections include around 70,000 objects and 120,000 photographs, showcasing a rich history in culture, archaeology, and art. Groups of up to 20 can book a guided tour.
Beatles exhibition
In Gislöv, far from Liverpool, there’s a place dedicated to the four long-haired lads who revolutionized popular music. This private collection, with hundreds of records and 500-600 films.
Maritime museum
Trelleborgs maritime museum displays the maritime history within Trelleborg Municipality, both past and present. The museum has sections dedicated to fishing, boats and nautical instruments.
Stenbäck aircraft
Civil and military airplanes, jet and piston engines, instruments, ground equipment, aircraft models, flight simulators, and former air traffic control systems from Sturup. Groups are advised to book in advance.
Borgquistska museet
Nowhere else in Sweden is there a hat museum housed in such meticulously restored old factory premises that it feels as if the seamstresses have just left their sewing machines for a coffee break.
