Catrine's Natural Gems
Join us on an outing to the beautiful natural gems in Trelleborg and the surrounding area! Don’t forget to pack a picnic blanket and a snack basket—a cup of coffee and a delicious bun add a special touch to any outing. Just be sure to take your trash and litter home with you.

Albäck
Go for a long, lovely fall walk. There are marked trails in Albäck that are 5 km long, but be sure to try out some other paths—ones that are new to you—and you can make the loop even longer. Albäck offers many beautiful settings, including old-growth forest, newly planted woodlands, and numerous wetlands. Bring your binoculars and climb up the birdwatching tower. Enjoy the view—you might even spot a rare bird that has chosen Albäck as a resting spot before heading out over the sea on its southward migration.

Gabeljung/Kullatorp
The beech forests in the northern part of the municipality are the city’s closest forests, aside from Albäck. The area is quite large (from the perspective of someone living on the Söder plain). In many parts, intensive forestry is practiced, with clear-cuts and spruce plantations, but if you look around a bit, you can find small patches with old, gnarled trees that have been allowed to live a little longer. If you move quietly and calmly without talking too much, you might catch a glimpse of some of the animals that live here, such as squirrels, deer, and birds. Bring a blanket, lean gently against a thick tree trunk, and feel the tree’s quiet serenity wash over you. Close your eyes and enjoy the moment.

The Pearl Forest in Beddinge
On certain fall days when the weather is gray and windy, it can be nice to visit a small forest, such as Pärlanskogen in Beddinge. The beach forest, with its tall pine trees and tangled honeysuckle vines climbing high up into the trees, offers a peaceful haven for both people and animals. Quite a few birds stop here before heading south in the fall. There are a few winding paths you can follow. The tranquility of the forest and the strong winds on the beach offer refreshing contrasts. Maybe you’ll find a piece of amber in the sand or some beautiful “glass stones.” On windy days, you’re guaranteed plenty of fresh air in no time!

Äspöholm's coastal heath
Äspöholm’s beach ridge is a magical place on any calm, sunny day of the year. Bring a blanket and maybe a snack. Settle down on the crest of the ridge facing Route 9—far enough down to be sheltered from the north wind and avoid hearing the traffic. Take a deep breath and let yourself be enchanted by the sound of the waves and the sparkle of the sea. You might even spot a beautiful flower that’s still in bloom. Is the weather harsh and blustery? Put on your boots and take a walk along the shore. It’s guaranteed to be refreshing!
I hope you have many wonderful days out in nature!
