The Junior Swedish Weightlifting Championships are coming to Trelleborg in 2027!

Following a successful Senior Swedish Weightlifting Championship in the summer of 2025, it is now clear that Trelleborg will once again host a Swedish championship. In 2027, the Junior Swedish Weightlifting Championship will be held at Söderslättshallen.

It was in the summer of 2025 that Trelleborg’s Athletics & Wrestling Club (TABK) hosted the Swedish Senior Weightlifting Championships. The championships were well-received by the Swedish Weightlifting Federation, participants, and visitors—as well as by the municipality of Trelleborg.

It has now been confirmed that the federation and Trelleborgs ABK will continue their partnership. Trelleborg will host the 2027 Swedish Junior Weightlifting Championships, with Söderslättshallen serving as the competition venue. The exact date will be set by the Swedish Weightlifting Federation in the fall of 2026.

Ahead of the championship, Trelleborgs ABK is collaborating with the City of Trelleborg and Visit Trelleborg to create an even better event and provide both competitors and visitors with a great experience.

With so many talented junior weightlifters in Sweden, from north to south, we at TABK are convinced that we will see many impressive lifts and a wonderful sense of community when the Swedish junior weightlifting champions are crowned. “See you at Söderslättshallen in 2027,” says Rolf Svensson, president of Trelleborgs ABK.

The Junior Swedish Championships bring together young weightlifters from all over Sweden and are becoming an even bigger sporting event that attracts athletes, coaches, families, and visitors to Trelleborg.

More information about the dates and competition schedule will be provided once the Swedish Weightlifting Federation has set the competition date in the fall of 2026.
