The Ball Is Round – 100 Years of TFF Through the Memories of Trelleborg Residents
Soccer is more than just scores, standings, and 90 minutes on the field. It’s memories from Vångavallen, old jerseys tucked away in the back of the closet, nerve-wracking moments on the sidelines, and stories that have been passed down through generations. As Trelleborgs FF celebrates its 100th anniversary, the Trelleborg Museum wants to tell the club’s story—together with the people of Trelleborg.
The exhibition opens on September 9 "The Ball Is Round – TFF 100 Years" at the Trelleborg Museum. It will be a participatory exhibition exploring the significance of soccer and Trelleborgs FF —not only as a sport but also as a cultural phenomenon, a way of life, and part of the city’s shared narrative.
In preparation for the exhibition, the museum has collected memories, photographs, stories, and artifacts from people who, in various ways, have been part of the club’s history. These include players and coaches, but also fans, parents, and others who have followed the team over the years.
One club—thousands of stories
Trelleborgs FF The history of Trelleborgs FF isn’t just about the big games and moments on the field. It’s also about all the people connected to the club and the personal stories that rarely make it into the history books.
And of course, there are years that bring back particularly vivid memories. What do you remember, for example, from 1994?
Through "The Ball Is Round – TFF 100 Years" , these personal stories take center stage and, together, paint a broader picture of what soccer and TFF have meant to Trelleborg across generations.
Do you have anything at home that tells a piece of history? Or a memory that still lingers? If so, your story could become part of the exhibition and TFF’s 100th-anniversary celebration.
Because when a club turns 100, it’s not just the club’s history that’s being told—it’s also the story of the people, the city, and all the moments that have made TFF a part of Trelleborg.
